Founded in 1945 by Loyd Jacob of Orland, IN, Jacob Insurance Service continues to prosper 75+ years later. During our prolific 75+ year history, JIS has been fortunate to lay claim to two Mayors as part of our rich history. Wendell Jacob served as Mayor of Angola 1961 – 1965 and current Mayor Richard Hickman has served since 2002.  The business has been run by a Jacob family member for 70 of the 75+ years.  
 

Having acquired several agencies over the years to enhance their customer base and product line, JIS provides quality companies including but not limited to Allstate, Auto-Owners, Frankenmuth, Pekin, Progressive, West Bend, Hagerty, American Modern, Foremost, Bristol West, National General, and Westfield Insurance companies.
 

JIS features a friendly and knowledgeable staff including Susan Ralston (licensed agent/agency partner), Eric Trabert (licensed agent/agency partner), Heather Hanna (licensed agent/CSR), Geneva Yarnelle (licensed agent/CSR), and Stephanie Ordway (licensed agent/CSR). In addition to serving Indiana, we also serve Michigan, Ohio, Illinois, Wisconsin, South Carolina, West Virginia, Tennessee and Florida.
